Getting Started with Gouache is geared towards artists who want to learn and master color mixing and also create beautiful artworks with a minimal amount of supplies. Gouache is a chameleon; you can thin it down like watercolor, it dries fast like acrylic, but you can go back and blend colors days later just like oils. It is a low-toxicity paint so you can paint at home with no worries, and it is virtually waste-free since any unused paint on your palette can be used again with a spritz of water.
This class focuses on color theory. That might sound scary, but it's just honing your instincts when it comes to mixing colors. We are using just 5 colors of gouache for this class, but this simple palette yields unlimited options!
With over 12 hours of gouache painting and color mixing instructions, you will be painting like a pro in no time!
You will learn how to mix the soft colors of a tufted titmouse, the vibrant sky of a sunset and a delicious dessert!
You will learn how to create wonderful textures like fur, wood, rocks, and fluffy clouds!
You will capture atmospheric effects like magical bokeh patterns and soft, velvety backgrounds.
You will learn the tools and techniques to use gouache to paint anything you desire! And I'll even show you how to preserve your paintings when you are done! If that's not all, you will also find a resource section stocked with other gouache tutorials I have done over the years. If that sounds good to you, then consider enrolling in Getting Started in Gouache today! I can't wait to see you in class!
